New York Yankees

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the May 27th, 2007

So, the NY Yankees are in a slump right now. A little slump brings the Yankees into Panic mode. They have just signed Roger Clemens to a prorated deal of $28million and he’s 44 years old! But, by the end of this season, the Yankees as usual should be in first place and be contending for a championship.

Yao’s Back

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the March 17th, 2007

Yao’s back from injury and is doing quite well.  He isn’t the dominant self he used to be before he got injured but he’s getting there. Today he got 23 points and 12 rebounds in only 33 minutes of action.  If Yao and Tracy can stay healthy from now until playoff time, the Rockets would be a very scary team.

March Madness

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the March 7th, 2007

March Madness is gonna start soon. 65 teams enter the tournament and only 1 winner. ACC this year has been the strongest conference led by UNC, but they are as vulnerable as any team to get beaten.  This year, I will pick the Dukies to win it all, like I do every year.  The reason is pretty simple… the Bluedevils have a strong tradition of winning (like NY Yankees). We’ll see what will happen next week as the tournament begin.

NBA ALL Star Weekend

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the February 21st, 2007

The NBA game was pretty boring. The West won as expected, and Kobe was MVP. The best part of the all star weekend is of course the skills challenge, 3-pt shooting event, the team event and the slam dunk contest. Dwyane Wade was the repeat champion for the skills challenge and just annihilated the competition. Kapono made 24 three pointers and was 1 shy of the all time record. And Gerald Green of the Boston Celtics won the Slam dunk contest.

Superbowl Review

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the February 13th, 2007

So, Peyton Manning has finally won a superbowl. The reason: Rex Grossman. Why is that guy just throwing up the ball in the air and hopes that his receivers make a nice play? If the Bears are gonna go anywhere next year, they need to get rid of this guy.

As for as the MVP, Peyton Manning should not be the MVP. His numbers weren’t spectacular. I would have given it to one of the running backs who definitely dominated the game and kept the Bears offense off the field. I guess that’s a good think for Bears with Rex as QB.

Valentine’s Day

So, Valentine’s Day is coming up soon. Upon browsing through High End Collectibles’ site, I found this heart shaped Capodimonte Jewelry Box. This seems to be a good gift for your loved one during the special day. Well, at least it’s heart shaped.

Sports Update

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the February 2nd, 2007

In the past few days lets recap what happened:

  • Tiger Woods won 7 straight PGA Tour events.
  • My prediction of Serena and Roger winning the Australian Open was correct.
  • Barry Bond’s contact was voided by the commissioner.
  • NBA all-star game starters/reserves were named.

The superbowl is coming up this Sunday. It’s going to be the Colt’s offense vs. the Bear’s defense. Whoever wins the turnoever battle will win the superbowl is what I predict.

Tiger Woods

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the January 27th, 2007

Tiger Woods is back to playing PGA golf, which means the season officially begins. He’s been absent for nearly 4 months. His first two rounds have been OK for Tiger, he needs some catching up to do if he wants to win the Buick title. Currently, he is 7 shots behind but with Tiger’s ability and skills, that isn’t a very big obstacle to overcome.

Australian Open

Posted in Sports by Administrator on the January 21st, 2007

Currently, they are on the fourth round of the Australian Open. Most of the favorites are still alive. On the men side, Roger Federer is definitely the favorite and is my pick to win the Open. On the women side, it’s wide open and there doesn’t seem to be a favorite. Heck, let’s just pick the American to win, Serena Williams. She’s definitely past her prime but she’s still a beast and can hit with the best of them.
